On 18-20 June 2025, the University of Iceland, through Prof. Egill Skúlason, organized and hosted the final General Assembly meeting and 13th Steering Committee meeting of VERGE Project. The meeting brought together partners and external experts from Germany, Greece, Estonia, and Belgium.
The meeting started with a joint dissemination event of VERGE & GAMMA and the meeting proper followed thereafter. The project is already in its 32nd month at the time of the meeting and the discussion centered on the scientific progress and results delivered by each work package until month 30/April 2025 while charting ways to ensure that remaining tasks are completed and project objectives are attained by the end of the project in October 2025.
With only 4 months left, the agenda also touched on how to sustain and scale up the consortium’s shared goal of achieving a sustainable ammonia production process. Valuable insights and presentations were presented by the external experts that VERGE can use as leverage to turn the project into a commercial venture.
