EDESSA, Greece – The VERGE consortium gathered for its 3rd General Assembly Meeting which was successfully held on 30 September – 01 October 2024 in the beautiful and charming municipality of Edessa in Greece. The 2-day meeting focused mainly on the scientific progress for the 24-month period (Nov 2022 to Oct 2024) as well as the future plans for the remaining 12 months.

Each WP leader had the opportunity to discuss in plenary the specific work carried out in their respective work packages including updates on risks and upcoming deliverables and milestones. The VERGE external expert advisory board (EEAB) was also present during the meeting. They provided the market outlook for renewable ammonia in the EU and UAE region and the existing policy environment such as the best, available, techniques (BAT) pursuant to EU Industrial Emissions Directive (IED).

There were also parallel sessions which allowed each work package to dive deep into the tasks, issues, action plans including future publications. The Steering Committee members likewise held its 10th SC meeting where they engaged in strategic planning to ensure that the tasks are aligned with the overall objective and timelines of the project and that results and outcomes of the project are sustained after project completion.

The VERGE Project will end in October 2025 and the consortium is determined more than ever to keep the momentum going and deliver quality results.
